In 1988, I cofounded the Catalyst Group, a nationally based financial services firm that specializes in financing for sustainable economy. I provided strategic planning for the company and consulting for our business, banking, municipal, and private clients.

In 1997, I co-founded Spirit of Health, a community-based wellness center where I ran the movement studio, maintained a private practice, and served as interim director.

I have been a movement educator for over twenty years. I am trained in meditative/ecstatic and healing traditions, as well as somatic/therapeutic movement practices. I am fascinated by the depth and accuracy of our organic intelligence. My current interest is to help people feel better no matter what else is happening.

I have spent extensive time in group and am a student of synergy. How do we create together?

Since 1987 I have guided groups ranging from three to 500 in ceremony, play, healing and practical action.

I have also served on the board or management team of numerous nonprofit organizations and public/private community ventures.

Currently, I work with individuals and families as well as private groups, businesses, organizations, and learning communities. I see clients and teach in my home studio, lead on-site trainings/retreats, and do guest teaching and presentations.

I live in a hand-built strawbale cottage outside a village in the hills of central Vermont. I love to dance and garden and rest, to be in wilderness and weather and water.

Both quietude and connection are precious for me.

Business

In 1987, I co-founded Catalyst Group (now Catalyst Financial Group). The company acts as financial alchemist connecting people, projects and money; and has coordinated over half a billion to date in financing to fuel green economy (conservation, prevention and restoration). Catalyst is a founding member of Social Venture Network and the socially responsible investment movement.

In seven years there I provided vision, strategic thinking and program design. I also consulted with clients—entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals, non-profits, business and government entities—in the design of social programs, alternative financing and innovative development programs.

In 1998, I co-founded Spirit of Health, a cooperatively run integrative health care center. For six years I worked within a team of 7-10 practitioners. I developed the movement studio at the center and maintained a private practice. As interim director, I created a tax-exempt 501(c)(3), raised initial funding, and created the first board of directors.

Movement

I have taught for yoga for over twenty years in community, business, and private settings, as well as in my own studio. I began practicing yoga in 1980, at the age of 18. I lived at Kripalu and, in 1987, was certified there to teach. I have studied in the Iyengar tradition and, since 1997, with Donna Farhi, with whom I trained and assisted in teacher training.

Beginning in 1985, I trained for seven years in the traditional moving meditation and health practices of the Tslagi (Eastern Cherokee). I continue this practice and am empowered to teach by Ven. Dhyani Ywahoo, director of Sunray Meditation Society.

Since 1996, I have honed my lifelong love of ecstatic movement through studies in various traditions. I offer this work privately and in community forums.

In 1999, I began studying Continuum, the evolutionary movement work of Emilie Conrad and in 2002, the body-centered Gestalt, sensory and perceptual work of Susan Harper, founder of ContinuumMontage.

I work with clients to relieve stress and pain, and am trained in trauma release work. I teach clients how to shift poor movement and postural habits.

Clients also come to learn to relax and meditate.

I design home movement programs for elders, athletes, the injured, and the rusty!
